God created birds, fish, and other animals but not in His image. Then He created man in His own image, which means man is special. While we were created to be like Him, we were not created to be Him.

We often confuse being made in God’s image with being actual gods ourselves. This means that humans have a tendency to be independent of God and forget about Him. The more man accomplishes certain things, like education, career, family, wealth, and others, he takes all credit and forgets that it’s because God made him that way that he is able to make those accomplishments.
When we act like our own god, we forget that we were made for a purpose. And that purpose is to glorify God with our gifts!

God did not make you with all the gifts you have so that you can do absolutely nothing with them. He made us to glorify Him in the things that we are doing. You were not made simply to eat, sleep, work, and die! But many people are on that trajectory.

God is very purposeful and deliberate in how He made you. And one of the worst things we can do is compare ourselves with other people. God did not make you to be like other people. He made you to be like you. So, whatever God made you to be, you are supposed to use that for the glory of God and not worry about what somebody else is doing.
Some of us don’t like the way that God made us, so we want to be made like someone else. It does not matter what other people are doing. What matters is what God made you for and what you are doing for the kingdom of God.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

Our Christianity has become boring because we are not living the way God made us. It has become a ritual, something that we are supposed to do Sunday mornings.
While we are looking for God to work in our lives and our communities, He is waiting for you to live up to the calling that He made you for.
If Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had decided to bow down to the golden calf, they would have still survived. But the King would not have glorified God.
As Americans, we have a tendency to wait for a catastrophic event to glorify God. But we need not wait for such an event to do what we were created to do. We need to pray to God every day to find out what he wants for us.
You might not be alive tomorrow. So, why worry about two weeks from now or when you retire? God made us for a particular purpose, and we need to glorify Him every day.
We need not get caught up in the idea that tomorrow is promised to us. It’s not. There are people at your neighborhood, workplace, restaurant, and other places who don’t know God. But you know God. He has made you with a specific purpose and gift, which He calls you to use to tell people about the amazing things that God has planned for us.
Instead of worrying about tomorrow or next month, worry about what God is going to do through your gift now and today. A lot of people are missing out on their lives because they were made to do spectacular things, but instead, they sit and do nothing.
Conclusion
God calls every one of us to use the gifts He put in us to glorify Him in the spaces that we are in. So, quit praying to God to change things in your life. Wake up and change them yourself. God has put gifts in you that you are meant to use to make a difference in people’s lives, so that they may see the glory of God in your actions.
